Recent Total Body Integration Workshop


Last week in Dunsborough at Yoga South West I ran a full day workshop teaching twenty students of varying ages and abilities methods to promote greater mobility of the body.

The focus was on improving mobility, and then fine tuning our yoga practices by implementing the concepts into our poses

This workshop was practically based but the key concepts broached were:

1. That there are Three Fundamental Movement patterns that the whole body engages in, so all the muscles, the fascia, tendons and ligaments are required to move the skeleton at once.

2. More complicated patterns of walking, running, yoga or gym work overlap these patterns.

3. Restrictions in any of the patterns produce pain….creates changes in body shape and physiological change.

The students were greatly challenged and asked some excellent questions about pain the roll of the jaw and the eyes, issues about headaches and sleeping.
